Casper Cosmus Alsøe is a Danish visual artist based in Copenhagen. He holds a Bachelor in Fine Art Photography from Glasgow School of Art (2017) and studied at Fatamorgana, the Danish School of Art Photography (2013). Cosmus’s practice moves between photography, objects and publications, exploring photography as image, material and physical experience. His work often takes everyday life and the visual structures that shape it as a point of departure. In recent years, family life and the experience of becoming a parent have become increasingly central to his practice. Through experimental photographic processes, he works with shifts in the familiar, creating imaginative contexts in which documentation, construction and fiction begin to overlap. His images often develop through sequences, where meaning emerges in the relationships between individual photographs, an interest that continues in zines and artist publications as an integral part of his practice. Cosmus has exhibited in Copenhagen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, London and Marseille, among other places.
