Jens Alfred Raahauge (b. 1990) is a painter and in his paintings he's involved with emotional memories. His motives are fragmentary and contain both scenes from his own life and variations over images found in media. He makes a parallel between his own emotional life and the world around himself. He's concerned with the theme disenchantment as well as the concept of nostalgia, defined not as the longing for simpler times but the longing for stronger and stranger impressions once you've become so accustomed to the world it has stopped to feel acute. Thus the nostalgic also concerns the frightening. Jens Alfred treats the phenomenon both in regards to his own life and the world at large.
