Jonathan Nørgaard Dahl (b. 1996) is a painter whose practice explores the past as an unstable, incomplete and changing space where memory, history and imagination intertwine. Fragments of personal and collective references are brought together freely, without attempting to reconstruct the past. His motifs emerge between recognition and displacement, appearing as remembered images rather than concrete narratives. A muted and sometimes dark palette lends the paintings a melancholic, timeless atmosphere. Figures and spaces often appear still, suspended in a moment where time seems to pause. Through painting, Dahl examines how memories are preserved, distorted and gradually disappear, and how the past may exist as traces rather than a coherent whole.
